Our story

A place worth
bringing home.

Idukki is a district of high ridges, shola forest and rain-fed plantations in the Western Ghats of Kerala. We started Pure Idukki to share a little of that character, quietly and without fuss.

The mountains

Altitude shapes everything.

Idukki sits among some of Kerala's highest ground. Cool nights, long mists and steep slopes give the district a climate that is quite different from the coast just a few hours away.

It is this setting that has long made the region known for plantations, and it is where the idea of Pure Idukki begins.

Forest and rain

Rain does the quiet work.

The monsoon arrives heavy and steady. Forests hold the water, streams carry it down, and plantations rise and fall with the seasons.

We think of rain as part of every product: you may not see it, but it is part of the story of the land.

Spices, tea, coffee and honey

Four ways to taste a place.

Peppercorn and cardamom for the kitchen. Tea and coffee for the morning. Honey for the table. These are the everyday things we want to bring to you from the hills.

We choose products with attention to their origin and quality, and we describe them plainly, without exaggerated claims.

People and craft

Made by people who know the land.

Growing, harvesting, drying, roasting and packing are skilled work, and much of it is still done by hand. Good products start with those hands.

As Pure Idukki grows, we hope to share more about the growers and makers behind each product.
